Sorry to hear this! If you have saved your account backup codes as we described in another guide, this is the time to use them. With most account providers, when you are prompted to enter a code from your two factor authentication app, there will be an option to instead enter one of your backup codes. Follow that flow to login.
If you do not have backup codes, things get considerably more complicated.
- Try logging in from a computer or device that has previously logged into the account. In some cases, this will allow you to skip the two factor authentication.
- Once you are in, go into your account settings and set up a new 2FA app or security key.
If this doesn’t work, then your only option will be to contact the technical support for your account provider. In some cases, if you have not set up a backup, there may be no way to regain access to your accounts.
